Very Long Wave Infrared: The spectral region from about 15 to about 100 microns. This region is generally not used for imaging systems.
Visible Spectrum: Light which is visible to the human eye, which has wavelengths between approximately 380 – 750 nanometers (nm). Shorter wavelengths correspond to shades of violet and blue, progressing through green (~500 nm) and red at longer wavelngths.
VFOV: Acronym for Vertical Field of View, which is the verticall extent to which an imaging system can view a scene.
VOx: Acronym for Vanadium Oxide, which is a material used in some uncooled thermal infrared imaging detectors (typically, microbolometers).
