The U.S. military uses MIL-STD-810F as the guideline to verify the environmental design and performance of equipment used by U.S. Armed Forces. Accordingly, IEC’s engineers use MIL-STD-810F as the guide for test and verification of its line of tactical surveillance systems.

The ‘Gold Standard’ for thermal imaging system performance modeling is NVThermIP, a comprehensive numerical simulation package which models the performance of thermal infrared security systems. This modeling package (developed by the U.S. Army’s Night Vision Laboratory at Fort Belvoir) is used by IEC’s engineering team to determine and confirm the thermal imaging performance of its tactical surveillance systems, along with independent laboratory testing of imaging performance.
